Bali Trip September 2012, Day 5

Ok.
Inhale.
Exhale.

FINALLY!!!!
For those of you who don't know, I'm a bit freak about dolphins. I won't go to any dolphin show in the zoo after watching The Cove. So going to Lovina was a very very touching moment for me. But that doesn't stop right there. Bear with me, I will tell you why.

The journey to Lovina took about 3 hours from Kuta. You should be departing from Kuta around 2 am so you wouldn't miss the dolphin (jukung departs at 6 am from the coast). It was literally long and winding road. God bless guys who drive, I slept the whole time.

We arrived at Lovina around 5 am (we got lost and that's most likely to happen to anyone who doesn't use travel service or driver, and just depend his/her life to a GPS) and it was still dark. Guess what I saw? a beautiful sky filled with stars. I swear, it was the most beautiful sky I ever saw, I have never ever saw stars that much in the sky. And while I'm amazed by the beautiful stars in the sky, I heard adzan Subuh echoing from a mosque near the beach. I look around, staring at my travel mates, listening to the beautiful sound of adzan, gazing at the stars, and knowing I was there for my most favorite sea animal, I was stunned and burst into tears. Tears of joy of course. It was a beyond-words-experience for me.

Moving on, we got a jukung for the four of us at IDR 60.000 per person. Almost every jukung gives the same price, so doesn't matter which jukung you take. 45 mins ride to the middle of the sea, you can see the beautiful sun rising behind you. In the middle of nowhere we and other jukungs patiently waiting for the first dolphins to come up.

And then he showed up; the first dolphin. Everybody just so excited, pointing the dolphin. And then there are another dozen batch of it. They were beautiful and looked so joyous, jumping off and swimming across the sea. I can't even describe how beautiful the whole experience.

Too bad I only got one lucky shot when the dolphin was jumping.

After an hour of satisfaction just staring at the dolphins, our jukung headed back to the beach. Looking at Lovina with light was so different, nothing special besides small hotels and cheap bars. We drove back to our hotel, to pack and move to another hotel, Club Bali Suites @ The Jayakarta.

Arrived at Club Bali Suites @ The Jayakarta, Seminyak, we took a nap. Exhausted!
